Face to face with this sham
Social norms and social stigma
Befitting those who create the dogma
Essential it is to have a doctrine
Civility, civic sense and some discipline
Codes of which, exist in wide spectrum
Thus enabling most to have no doldrums
Confusing it is to see all the twists and rotation
Entangled in the web of lies and deception
Society regales in ever-changing misconception
For words have new meanings and new diction
Self-esteem is an essential asset, so it is said
But destroyed by those conceited as they tread
Love and respect makes a society prosperous
Those who have known neither, find it preposterous
Trust and responsibility, crucial for a healthy structure
In most, today the above traits have a stricture
Perhaps, this is why the terrible confusion
Masquerading and forever living under delusion
Forever perplexed I am
